Thailand unofficial censorship

Thailand bookstores normally do not censor on ban any books – unless it is critical of the king, the royal family and government.

Even when books are not banned by the government the majority of bookstores practice self-censorship and would not stock nor sell books that they deem have topics that are taboo.

One good example of this is the book The Revolutionary King by William Stevenson, which though not banned in Thailand, is not stocked by any bookstore in the country.
